Kashka Glowacka
Kashka Glowacka is a Polish-American producer and production manager with over twenty years of professional experience in film and video production. She began her filmmaking career shortly after immigrating to NYC in 2002. As co-writer, producer, and star of her first dramatic production, Walls Are Doors (2005), she won film festivals in both Poland and the United States. Glowacka’s early success propelled her towards a career producing independent short films, documentaries, and dramatic feature films across genres and continents.
In 2015, Glowacka left NYC for the Hudson Valley and co-founded Northguild, a production company renowned for creating impactful documentary films centered on the region. One of their standout projects, the original ten-part series entitled Lost Arts (2023), explores the profound intersection of art, culture, and agriculture in the Hudson Valley.
Glowacka is currently in development of Orchestrated, a feature documentary exploring the unknown story of the first all Black symphony orchestra in the US. Under the direction of Natalia Iyudin, the project is gaining momentum with the endorsement of Lincoln Center and artistic guidance from Academy award-winning documentary directors and producers like Sam Pollard and Ross Kauffman.
As a Creative Producer for Creative Forces ® NEA Military Healing Arts Network, in collaboration with Flannel & Blade, Kashka brings years of management experience to the production of a seven-part short documentary series showcasing the transformative power of creative art therapy for military-connected individuals as part of the Creative Forces project.
Her latest production, One Story at a Time - Celeste Lecesne (2023), explores Lecesne’s career, which began with an off-broadway solo show that turned into an Academy Award-winning film and ultimately inspired The Trevor Project, the largest suicide prevention lifeline for LGBTQIA+ youth. Now Celeste stays the course, inspiring the next generation to have the bravery to claim their truth and continue to change the world, one story at a time. This short film premiered at DC/DOX and was accepted to over 25 festivals in 2024.
Kashka directed and produced PrEP and the City (2024), a PSA raising awareness about the HIV prevention pill PrEP for the Community Healthcare Network in NYC.
Glowacka assistant directed a feature fiction narrative, A Fairy Tale After All (2022), which had the distinguished honor of being premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Market and is currently streaming nationwide.
Glowacka’s collaborations with non-profits began early in her career with AHRC New York City, an organization serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Using film as a tool of expression, she helped elevate the voices and tell the stories of disabled persons living in New York City. This work became the gateway to a constellation of documentary films produced with the TMI Project in Kingston, NY, including Vicarious Resilience (2018), about raising mental health awareness, and Locker Room Talk (2017), highlighting the damages of toxic masculinity.
Kashka’s extensive experience creating award-winning content, combined with her passion and knowledge of the underpinnings of filmmaking, make her a powerful collaborator for both dramatic and documentary projects.
